Polynomials at Iterated Spectra Near Zero

Central sets in N are sets known to have substantial combinatorial structure. Given x ∈ R, let w(x) = x − bx + 12c. Kronecker’s Theorem [19] says that if 1, α1, α2, . . . , αv are linearly independent over Q and U is an open subset of (− 12 , 1 2 ) , then {x ∈ N : (w(α1x), . . . , w(αvx)) ∈ U} is nonempty and Weyl [22] showed that this set has positive density. In a previous paper we showed tha...

Density near zero

Let $S$ be a dense subsemigroup of $(0,+infty)$. In this paper, we state   definition of thick near zero, and also  we will introduce a definition that is equivalent to the definition of piecewise syndetic near zero which presented by Hindman  and Leader in [6].  We define density near zero for subsets of $S$ by a collection of nonempty finite subsets of $S$ and we investigate the conditions un...

Zero-Free Intervals for Flow Polynomials of Near-Cubic Graphs

Let P(G, t) and F(G, t) denote the chromatic and flow polynomials of a graph G. G.D. Birkhoff and D.C. Lewis showed that, if G is a plane near triangulation, then the only zeros of P(G, t) in (−∞,2] are 0, 1 and 2. We will extend their theorem by showing that a stonger result to the dual statement holds for both planar and non-planar graphs: if G is a bridgeless graph with at most one vertex of...

Bell Polynomials of Iterated Functions

Physics can be modeled by PDEs or recursively as iterated functions. A method is presented to decompose iterated functions into Bell polynomials and then into the combinatoric structure Schroeder’s Fourth Problem. Consistency with complex dynamics is shown by deriving the classification of fixed points in complex dynamics.

Nowhere-zero flow polynomials

In this article we introduce the flow polynomial of a digraph and use it to study nowherezero flows from a commutative algebraic perspective. Using Hilbert’s Nullstellensatz, we establish a relation between nowhere-zero flows and dual flows. For planar graphs this gives a relation between nowhere-zero flows and flows of their planar duals. It also yields an appealing proof that every bridgeless...
